Physiological sensitivities, Cognitive sensitivities, Emotional sensitivities, Altered States of Consciousness (ASC)
sensitivities and Transpersonal Experiences (TPE) sensitivities. That's the broad perspective. From a narrower
perspective, this book is about Transpersonal Experiences (TPE) and the people who have them."

It is a serious scientific study and, as such, requires some work on the part of the reader. Every effort, however,
has been made to make the material in the text as accessible as possible to the layperson. Moreover, it features many
amusing cartoons specifically drawn for the book, and it is strewn with witty epigraphs and quotations, which leaven the
text and provide many a chuckle for the reader. Additionally, the most salient points are reiterated in a Summary at the
end of each Chapter.
